We warrant that we have purchased data from a company or companies that we believe are reputable and hold themselves to a high standard of accuracy and reliability. Further, we warrant that we have used high-quality professional tools for the analysis of this data, and that the analysis was performed by a qualified statistician or demographer.
Notwithstanding the above assurance, if you purchase one or more of our reports, you are stipulating to us that you understand:
1) The underlying demographic data is from the USA ten-year census (2000, 2010, 2020, etc.). Errors in census sampling and other errors inherent in the census process are well-publicized.
2) Between the census years, various estimates are made to provide census-like data that is more up-to-date. As the word implies, "estimates" should not be construed to be as accurate as the underlying data. Thus, the original census errors may be compounded by errors of estimation. We purchase our estimates from a company that specializes in census/demographic data, but we cannot guarantee the quality of the work of any third party.
3) The further the year-of-estimate is from the census year, the greater the chance of error. We provide reports based on estimates two or more years after a census, as well as projections for five years into the future. These projections thus compound three sources of possible error: a) errors in the original census, b)errors in recent estimates, and c) errors of projection. Thus the standard legal disclaimer is well-justified by the nature of our products and the data with which we must work: “We do not warrant our reports to be suitable for any specific purpose whatsoever.” We are not responsible for any loss, injury, claim, liability, or damage related to your use of our reports, whether from errors or omissions in the content.
